　　镇坪乌鸡为家禽养殖中的特殊品种。洪石乌鸡具有体质强健、生存能力强、食性广、肉质纯香等特点，是一个较好的地方肉蛋兼用型鸡种。鸡肉细嫩，味鲜爽口，营养丰富，为高级营养滋补品, 经济价值极高。广为众人所赞传，产品供不应求，有广阔发展前途。拟在洪石乡境内建立一个选育繁育基地，建设乌鸡原种场1个，存栏原种鸡达500只，年繁育祖代种鸡3万只；建设乌鸡商品鸡繁育场1个，年提供商品鸡苗150万只。科学开展人工选育，采取措施加以保护，加强自群选育，免除外种混杂，对保持纯种乌鸡的有效延续极为有利。

　　Hongshi Black-boned Chicken, with broad feeding habit, strong physique & viability and delicious taste, is considered as a good local breed for both meat and eggs. Its tender, delicious taste and rich nutrition have been wildly praised, and it is also regarded as top quality nourishment. It is planned to develop a breeding base for aboriginal black-boned chicken, and 500 of this breed will be kept to breed 30,000 chickens per year as first generation breeding chicken; it is planned to develop the other black-boned chicken breeding base for the market supply of 1.5 million chickens per year. By artificial selection, eliminating the exotic breeds and other measures to protect the origin, the pure origin of the black-boned chicken can be effectively preserved.
